Sandra was born in Pitt County, reared in Greene County and educated in the Green County Public School System. Sandra married Kenneth Seberry in 1980 and moved to Wilson County along with two daughters, Charlotte Ellis and Jeanetta Ellis.
Sandra worked for many years as a seamstress-machine operator at Blue Bell/Wrangler and Devil Dog Manufacturing Company. Sandra was a loving, caring and giving person who loved children and loved working youths. She was very passionate about making sure youths that crossed her paths had things that they need if she saw any needs that were not met she did everything in her power to help fill that need. A strong love for kids propelled her into a career as an Instructor at Hattie Daniels Daycare Center in Wilson, NC. While working at Hattie Daniels, she decided to pursue and obtain a degree in Early Childhood Education at Wilson Technical Community College. After completing her degree, she pursued and obtained a position with the Wilson County Public School System initially as a Substitute Teacher and later as an Instructional Assistant at B.O. Barnes Elementary School. She was working on completing a Bachelor’s Degree at Barton College in Wilson, NC in Teacher Education.
Sandra loved spending time with family, which was her favorite pastime when not shopping. She enjoyed organizing family gatherings, making sure that everyone had what they needed and often what they wanted. Weekly she prepared a family meal where family, friends and sometimes strangers gathered. Her home was always open and welcoming. She served faithfully in church and in the ministry as Choir President, Youth Sunday Teacher, Praise-Dance Teacher and Step-Team Teacher. She loved people, she loved to fellowship but most of all she loved God.
She leaves a legacy of teaching, giving and loving. She will be greatly missed.
Sandra gave her life to Jesus Christ early in life. She was a faithful and active member of Artis Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Walstonsburg, NC. She later joined New Life World Outreach Center in Snow Hill, NC where she served faithfully in ministry.
