Sadie H. Speight

Mrs. Sadie H. Speight, 96, of 2232 Imperial Avenue, Wilson, NC, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at her home. The funeral service is scheduled for Friday, March 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at L. N. Forbes O.F.W.B. Tabernacle, 1800 Lane Street Extension, Wilson, NC.  Elder Elbert Forbes will officiate and Pastor George Ward will preside.

The public viewing will be Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. with an inspirational wake from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.  At all other times, the family will receive friends at the residence where they will also assemble on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in preparation for the funeral processional.

Sadie  leaves many precious memories to: four daughters, Phyllis Bailey, Ophelia Speight and Agnes Speight all of Wilson, NC and Ruth McPherson (Eply) of East Hampton, NJ; five sons, Henry Speight of Washington, DC, Lucius Speight (Darcia) of Ft. Washington, MD, Wendell Speight (Barbrie) of Summerville, SC, James Speight (Constance) of Greensboro, NC and Reginald Speight (Debbie) of Wilson, NC; eleven grandchildren, Kimberly Marshall, Angela Love(Chris), Timothy Speight, Eric Speight, Anya McPherson, Bianca Speight, Julian Speight, Brencent Royal (Reese), Dorian Royal (Christin), Naija Speight and Dorian Speight; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one aunt, Rose Stewart of Greenville, NC; one brother/cousin, Lester Artis of Brooklyn, NY; one sister/cousin, Ruth Smith of Greenville, NC; a special caregiver, Olivia Barnes and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors and dear friends, including Betty Winstead and Dorothy Lane.

Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
