Mr. Raymond Bowens, 83, of Wilson, NC, passed away on July 21, 2018 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.
The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Brown Chapel FWB Church, 1507 Hadley Street, Wilson, NC.Burial will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, JR. parkway, Wilson, NC.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Samuel Wilds and Luella Phillips; his grandparents, Welch and Leola Alford Bowens.
Raymond loved being around family. He leaves many cherished and fond memories to: his daughters, Rayenetta Bowens Parker of the home (her mother, Nannie Yelverton) and Yvette Bowens Graham of Raleigh, NC; his sons, Anthony Yelverton (Bernica) and Marlow Yelverton; one sister, Nadyne Wilds-Gilbert of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren; Chorles L. Parker II, Karlie M.C. Parker, Julius A.A. Parker, Jada D. Graham, Asia Yelverton, Angel Yelverton, Mone’ Yelverton, Marlow Yelverton, Jr., and Jyi’Mari Yelverton; god-children, Lameaka King, Quanique Bridgers, Crystal Williamson, Shelley Blackston, Sonnie Jenkins and Shamikio Allen; special cousins that were always there, Mary Lena Simms, Nathaniel Phillips, Leanna Ruffin, Charles and Veronica Eatmon, Earnest and Mae Farmer; a host of other cousins and relatives including special friends, Dequante Hoskins, Moses Hinnant, Joshua Bowser, Chorles Parker, Micheal Jones and Raymond Wells from Virginia.
