Preston D. Simms

Mr. Preston D. Simms, 67, formerly of Wilson, NC, passed away on October 30, 2018 at the Veterans Hospital in Durham, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 12:30 pm at Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ, 1601 Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC. Pastor Ernestine McGee will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 3:30 pm until 7:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Mr. Simms was preceded in death by: his parents, John Rogers and Nora Gray Simms; two brothers, Rubin Earl Stackhouse and Johnny Earl Rogers.

He leaves cherished memories to: three sisters, Clara Daniels of Wilson, NC, Odder Williams of Knightdale, NC and LaJulius Becton (Moses); seven nieces; five nephews; fours aunts, Inez Moore (Billy) and Ethylene Rogers, both of Wilson, NC, Inez Tyson of Goldsboro, NC and Vivian Stackhouse of South Carolina; two godsons, Michael Lee Bowens (Angela) and Chantez Bowens, both of Wilson, NC; several cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Ms. Clara Simms Daniels, 2216 Somerset Drive, N. Wilson, NC where they will also assemble on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession. 

Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
