Mrs. Nebraska Woodard Walker, 92, of 4501 Long Branch Trail, Raleigh, NC, transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.
The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Atkins Memorial Tabernacle, 6740 Rock Ridge Sims Road, Sims, NC. Bishop Henry Cox will deliver the eulogy and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, Bishop S.V. Woodard and Betty P. Woodard; three children, Carolyn Walker, Freddie Walker and Anderson Walker, Jr.; three brothers, Graham Woodard, Elijah Woodard and Fred T. Woodard; and three sisters, Mable McMillan, Mary Broadnax and Royce D. Smith.
She leaves cherished memories to: one son, Milton Walker (Charlesena) of Raleigh, NC; one daughter-in-law, Sarah Louis-Pierre of Philadelphia, PA; three sisters, Rematha Benson of Philadelphia, PA, Joyce Pettiford of Wilson, NC and Betty Woodard K-Johnson of Hampton, VA; two brothers, Booker T. Woodard (Mamie) of Fort Washington, MD and Jimmie D. Woodard (Inez) of Hampton, VA; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family will meet at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in preparation for the processional to Atkins Memorial.
