Mrs. Josephine Pender Thompson Williams

Mrs.  Josephine Pender Thompson Williams, 96, of 734 S. Lincoln Street, Wilson, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Wilson Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements are scheduled for Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 1:30pm at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, North Carolina.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Joseph Pender and Mrs. Etta Hinnant Pender. She leaves cherished memories to: two sons, Jessie Junior Thompson and Peece L. Williams of the home; special daughters, Lauranita Glenn of Wilson, Faustina Jones (Howard) of Passaic, NJ; godchildren, Gertha Crumpler, Charlotte, NC, Phyllis Eatmon, Annette Farmer, Sharon Hamilton, Henry Wingate, Alice Edmundson, Marilyn Woodard (Bobby) all of Wilson, NC, Joyce Ann Thigpen, Simms, NC, Carlton Bunn, Elm City, NC and Theodore Cooper of California; adopted sisters, Margaret Glenn, Nellie Gray Cooper of Wilson, NC; one brother, Jesse Davis Pender, Sr., Palm Springs, CA; caregiver, Nancy Lee Jones of Wilson, NC; several grandchildren and great-grand children including Frances Bynum and Jennifer Bynum, whom she reared; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 3:00pm until 8:30pm with an inspirational wake from 8:30pm until 9:30pm also at Stevens Funeral Home.

Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
