Minister Sally Ruth Kent Bunch

Minister Sally Ruth Kent Bunch, 69, of 7565 Springhill Church Road, Lucama, NC, passed away on September 24, 2019 at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Contending For The Faith Church Ministries, 1006 Academy Street, Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

An inspirational wake service will also be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Stevens Funeral Home.  

Minister Bunch was preceded  in death by her husband, James ‘Samp’ Bunch; parents, Elder James Kent and Mary Kent; three brothers Danny Joe Kent, William Henry Kent and Charles Ray Kent.

She leaves many loving and cherished memories to: two sons, Kobe A. Kent of Wilson, N.C. and J’Mel Bunch of Lucama; two step-sons, Tyrone Webb and Josiah Chapman both of Wilson, NC, one step daughter, Tawana Chapman of Wilson, NC; six sisters Katrew Anderson of Wilson, Reversa Strickland (Felton) of Bailey; Phyllis Forsythe (James) of Wilson, Teresa Kent and Cathy Kent of Lucama, NC and Vernestine Kent of Knightdale, NC; four brothers, Willie Deans (Lula) of Kenly, NC, Thomas Kent (Germeatrius) and Bishop Glenwood Kent (Shirley) both of Lucama, NC and Nelson Kent (Annie) of Wilson, NC a special nephew, Corey Kent (Tonya) of Raleigh, NC; two brother in laws Marvin Bunch, Jr. of Coney Island, NY and Robert L. Bunch (Harriet) of Baltimore, MD; four sister in laws Janice Kent of Lucama, Carolyn Barnes (Bobby) of Lucama, NC; Dorothy Bunch of Lucama, NC and Geraldine Bunch (Larry) of Wilson, NC; five aunts, Ann Peppers (Zollie), Janie Graham and Ozebell King all of Wilson, NC, Mae Hinnant of Roosevelt, NY and Betty Deans of Culpepper, Va.. Seventeen grandchildren, four great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home where they will assemble at 12:00 noon on Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession.
