Minister Frances "Bert" Artis Locus, 82, of 6013 Lucama Road, Lucama, NC, passed away on August 1, 2019 at her home.
The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 11:00 am at Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ, 1601 Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext, Wilson, NC. A public visitation is scheduled for Friday, August 9, 2019, from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC with an inspirational wake starting at 6:00 pm also at Stevens Funeral Home.
Miss Bert was preceded in death by her husband, Divous Lee Locus; one son; Dennis Locus, one daughter Minnie Locus-Chatman, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren; her parents, James and Lenora Artis; four brothers, James, William, Roger and John Artis; three sisters, Mary Lee Green, Minnie Artis and Flossie Pender,
Leaving to cherish her memories are three sons: Apostle Ricky Locus (Bessie) of Wilson, NC, Tony Locus (Ada) of Raleigh, NC and Elder Billie Locus (Mintecia) of Dallas, GA. Three daughters: Janice Kent, Brenda Locus of Lucama, NC, Misty Locus of Wilson, NC, Son in law James Chatman,27 grandchildren, 41 Great grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grand. One son in-law James Chatman special friends; Frances Bobbie, Clem Tyson and Cornelis Perkins, two Sister in laws: Queen Artis of Wilson, NC and Ella Artis of Charlotte NC, Three special caregivers: Linda Edmondson, Cynthia Jefferson, and Connie Scott. Cherished memories among many nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
