Mary Ray Barnes Obituary

Ms. Mary Ray Barnes, 65, of 2124 Silver Leaf Road, Wilson, NC, passed away on April 21, 2018 at her home.

The funeral service is scheduled for Friday, April 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ, 1601 Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.  Her son-in-law, Pastor Terry Finch of Tabernacle of Faith Church, Hayes, VA will officiate and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.  A public viewing is scheduled for Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC. The family will assemble at 12 noon on Friday at the residence in preparation for the funeral procession.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Barry L. Ray (Petal Lee) of Holly Springs, NC and Edwin "Dee" Ray of Wilson, NC; two daughters, Teela T. Finch (Terry) of Williamsburg, VA, Pamela L. Ray of Charlotte, NC; two adopted daughters, Ie'sha L. Ray and Kada'ja M. Ray both of Wilson, NC; two sisters, Marjorie Joyner (Victor) of Wilson, NC and Mary Sue Kyle of Washington, DC; one brother, Tim Ward, Sr. (Stacie) of Charlotte, NC; one brother-in-law, Richard Benjamin of Hartsville, SC; two aunts, Ethel Huggins of Rocky Mount, NC and Lucille Hunter of Brooklyn, NY; one uncle, Allen King (Ann) of Rocky Mount, NC; seven precious grandchildren, T'Londa Lawson (Brian), T'Anna Finch, Deionte, LauriAnne, Deonna, Tyquan and Dequan; four great grandchildren, Kemahni, Noah, CJ and Rosie; three nieces, Denica Benjamin of Columbia, SC, Catherine Hawley and JoAnn Meeks both of Washington, DC and Maya S. Ward of Highpoint, NC; one great niece, Morgan Moses of Columbia, SC; nephews, Marlon and Montero Kyle of Washington, DC, Daniel Ray of Cincinnati, OH, Reggie Ray (Martha) of Charlotte, NC, Tim Ward, Jr. of Norfolk, VA, Duriell Benjamin of Hartsville, SC and Dominic Benjamin (Gina) of Florence, SC; special life long people who shared in her life, Sandra Cooper, Gloria Evans, Debbie Hanks, Regina Short, Beverly "Tudy" Mitchell, Oneida Jenkins, Barbara Jean Reid, Ricky and Cynthia Daughtridge, Tommy and Joe Watson,William and Janice Faye Johnson, Karen Williams, and Rachel Edwards. 

The family will receive friends at the home, where they will assemble on Friday at 12:00 noon in preparation for the funeral procession. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
