Mrs. Lillie Beatrice Sheppard Kerney, 77, of 1745 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC, passed away on April 28, 2019 at Wilson Medical Center.
The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11:00 am at Flat Rock Church of Christ, 6730 Flat Rock Road, Sims, NC. Pastor Donald Loftin will deliver the eulogy and burial will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
Mrs. Kerney was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Sheppard; parents, George Washington Kerney and Sallie Dinah Jones Kerney; grandchildren, Clayton Rainey, Jr. and Elijah Rainey; siblings, William Richard Kerney, Sallie Willingham, Dorothy McFadden and Doretha Sheppard.
She leaves cherished memories to: two daughters, Kathy E. Bullock (Donnie) and Darlene Rainey (Clayton) both of Wilson, NC; two grandchildren, Brittany Rainey of Wilson, NC and Joshua Rainey of Maryland; three step grandchildren, Beau Braxton, Dana Lewis (Anthony) and Dante Bullock (Nicole); four great great grandchildren, Clayton Rainey, III, Honesty-Tamar Rainey, Autum Rainey and Ocean Rainey; two sisters, Ora Lee Farmer of Maryland and Daisy Darden (Charlie) of Elm City, NC; one god son, Chad N. Darden; one sister-in-law, Neverlee Sheppard; one brother-in-law, Bobby Sheppard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including a special niece who was like a daughter to her, Pricilla Kerney and a special caregiver, Dorthine Sharpe.
The family will receive friends at the home where they will assemble on Saturday at 10:00 am in preparation for the funeral procession.
