Ms. Lavern Ruffin, 63, passed away on November 6, 2019 at Wayne UNC Hospital in Goldsboro, NC.
The funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 2:30 pm at Saint Rose Church of Christ, DOC, 605 S. Douglas Street, Wilson, NC.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
Ms. Ruffin was preceded in death by her father Jimmie Lee Ruffin; three brothers, Jimmie Joe Speight, Elijah Ruffin and Terry Lee Ruffin.
She leaves cherished memories to: two sons, William Michael Ruffin, Jr. (Shanitta) and Maurice Ruffin both of Wilson, NC; one daughter, Latisha Whitfield (Roderick) of Wilson, NC; thirteen grandchildren, Joshua, Chelsea, William, Michael III, Michael Ray, Nia, Zamya, Jahzarius, Nakhia, Ananyree, Maurice, Jr. and Seven; mother, Madie Parker Ruffin; six sisters, Mary Ann Silver, Angela Ruffin and Sue Ann Ruffin all of Black Creek, NC, Joe Seth Ruffin, Joyce Teasley (Willie) and Ada Ree Ruffin all of Wilson, NC; three brothers, Jessie Lee Ruffin (Patricia) of Stantonsburg, NC, Joseph Ray Ruffin (April) of Virginia and Randy Ray Ruffin (Pamela) of Wilson, NC; a host of aunts, uncles, neices, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including a special aunt, Hilda Mayo.
