Joyce E. Dixon

Mrs. Joyce E. Dixon, 71, of  2817 Tilghman Road, Wilson, NC, passed away on March 28, 2018 at Wilson Medical Center.

The funeral service is scheduled for Monday, April 2, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Salisbury Church, 2029 Lipscomb Road, Wilson, NC.

Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Sunday, April 1, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Booker T. Edwards and Minnie Lee Suggs Edwards; two brothers and one sister, Harvis Edwards, Booker T. Edwards and  Helen "Candy" Edwards.

She leaves many loving and cherished memories to: her husband, Willie N. Dixon, of the home; three sons, Linwood Earl Wilkes, Jr. of Wilson, NC, Kevin Dixon (Ta'Nishia) of Winterville, NC and Tyrikko Dixon (Crystal) of Raleigh, NC; three daughters, Felicia W. Curry (Bobby) of Raleigh, NC, Angela James (Dennis) and Vanessa Hill (James), both of Wilson, NC; fourteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Pennie Edwards of Capitol Heights, MD; one brother, Gregory Edwards (Felicia) of Wilson, NC; one sister-in-law, Clarretta Gibson of Capitol Heights, MD; two brothers-in-law, Allen Dixon (Ada) of Kinston, NC and James Dixon (Percy) of Upper Marlboro, MD; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including a special niece whom she assisted in rearing, Monica Harris.

The family will receive friends at the home, where they will assemble at 12:00 noon on Monday in preparation for the funeral procession.

Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
