Joseph L. Cannon

Mr. Joseph L. Cannon, 76, of 216 Pine Street, Snow Hill, NC, passed away on May 8, 2018 at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Salisbury AME Church 2029 Lipscomb Road, Wilson, NC. Reverend Christopher Jones will deliver the eulogy.

Burial will follow in Saint James AME Zion Cemetery, 403 Harper Street, Snow Hill, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 12:00 noon until 7:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Mr. Cannon was preceded in death by: his parents, Thomas Cannon and Hannah Cannon and one son, Calvin Cannon.

He leaves cherished memories to: one son, Chris Cannon (Saundra) of Winterville NC; three daughters, Toni Davis (Reggie) of Lucama NC,  Melissa Mitchell (Edgar) of Middlesex, NC and Cherise Cannon of Winterville NC; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Cannon of Snow Hill NC;  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including, a special friend, Reverend William Cobb.  

The family will receive friends at the home where they will assemble on Saturday at 11:30 pm in preparation for the funeral procession.             

Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
