Johnnie Lee Taylor Obituary

Mr. Johnnie Lee Taylor, 71, of 7638 Piney Grove Church Road, Stantonsburg, NC, passed away on January 5, 2020 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC,

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ, 1600 Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC. Burial will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Tabernacle of God Community Church, 6326 Speight School Road, Saratoga, NC.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by: his wife, Josephine Jenkins Taylor; parents, Benjamin Franklin Taylor and Delphia Ruffin Taylor; one sister, Jane Taylor and one brother, Frank Taylor.

He leaves cherished memories to: two sons, Leslie Dwayne Williams of Wilson, NC and Corey Lee Taylor (Kimberly) of Lucama, NC; two daughters, Tarsha Boose (Anthony) of Elm City, NC and Christina Taylor of Wilson, NC; a special daughter whom he reared, Krystal Jenkins of Wilson, NC; eleven grandchildren, Asiane, Marcel, Javonte', Coretez, Ryan, Kimorey, Nathyn, Lexus, T.J., Valenta and Aiyanna; two sisters, Diane Randolph and Ellen Taylor both of Wilson, NC; nine brothers, James Taylor (Ann), Gary Taylor (Brenda), Robert Taylor (Tracey) and Donnie Taylor (Keta) all of Wilson, NC, William Taylor of Stantonsburg, NC, Joseph Taylor of Black Creek, NC, Craig Taylor (Janet) of Fremont, NC, Terry Taylor of Rocky Mount, NC and Gene Taylor (Anna) of Lucama, NC; one aunt, Hattie Crumel of Wilson, NC; mother-in-law, Arthenia Jenkins; two brothers-in-law, James Jenkins, Sr. (Mattie) and Carlton Farmer; eight sisters-in-law, Arlene Eason (Curtis), Tammy Bagley Davis (Wilbert), Lisa Lucas, Joyce Dunston, Denise Mozell, Wanda Mozell, Gloria Mozell and Catherine Atkinson (Milton); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home of Tarsha and Tony Boose, 8221 Town Creek Road, Elm City, NC, where they will assemble at 12:00 noon on Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
