Jimmie Cooper

Jimmie Cooper, 84, of Wilson, NC, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at home on 600 Clark Ave, Wilson, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Barnes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1004 Railroad Street, Wilson, NC. Pastor Stevens Kent will deliver the eulogy. 

A public visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Steven Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC. 

Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by: one daughter, Mary Delores Cooper; parents, Bruce Cooper and Cleo Cooper; one brother, Alfonzo Cooper and one sister, Josette Cooper.

He leaves cherished memories to: his wife Mary Christine Cooper of the home; three sons, Larry Alston and Montgomery Pate both of Wilson, NC and James Earl Cooper of Virginia; four daughters, Sherl Edwards and Gloria Cooper both of Virginia and Sharlester Whitley and Kristy Whitley (boyfriend, Robert Bowers) both of Wilson, NC; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Alma Richardson and Alvania Sampson both of Rocky Mount, NC and Josephine Cooper of Virginia; one foster brother, Leroy Peterson of Wilson, NC; one aunt, Marie Woodard of Virginia; mother-in-law, Mary Ellis; two brothers-in-law, Carmichael Hilliard (Regina) and Charles Hilliard (Etta); seven sisters-in-law, Velma White (Russell), Sheala King (John), Edna Goines (Greg), Charlotte Barnes, Patricia Edwards (Woodrow), Lillie Eatmon (Elvis) and Carolyn Baines; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including, two very special friends, Eric Moore and Michael Thomas.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
