Janice Elaine Hobbs, 65 passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, NC.
The funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:00 at Salisbury A.M.E Zion Church located 2029 Lipscomb Rd, Wilson, NC. Public Visitation is scheduled for Saturday starting an hour before the service, 10:00 to 10:50 AM. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC. The family will assemble at 103 Chase Street in Eureka, NC in preparation for the funeral precession.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Hobbs and Helen Dickerson Hobbs; one sister, Mavis Hobbs; two brothers, George Hobbs and Clifton Douglas Dickerson.
Janice leaves cherished and precious memories to: one brother, Thurman Eugene Hobbs of Pikeville, NC; two sisters, Joanne Hobbs Wigfall (Marion "Buddy") of Jacksonville, NC and Bobbie Hobbs Rhodes (Thelmus "TR") of Greenville, SC; three uncles, D.H. Hobbs, Jr., of Eureka, NC, Tom Dickerson of Wilson, NC and Lannie Earl Dickerson (Ora) of New York; two aunts, Gertha Hobbs of Plainfield, NJ and Tine Yelverton Hobbs Horne of Goldsboro, NC; an honorary aunt, Rose "Coot" Mitchell; two special cousins who were like sisters to her, Diedre "Dee Dee" Shirelle Hobbs and Sonya Deshaun Hobbs Blackwell (Sterling) both of Greensboro, NC; nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, Cayla Wigfall Cason (Logan) of Durham, NC; six nephews, Xavier Lamar "Zay" of Jacksonville, NC, Justin Bailey Rhodes of Beckley, WV, Brandon Hobbs of Greensboro, NC, Albert "Junior" Dickerson, Reginald Demont Dickerson and Clifton "Buddy" Farr (LaTonya) both of Wilson, NC, Kennedy Michelle Jeffers, Hailey Blackwell, Jasmine Blackwell, Sydney Blackwell and a special nephew, Sterling "SJ" Blackwell, Jr. all of Greensboro, NC; a special caregiver who was also a cousin, Margie Hobbs Best
