Mr. James A. Worelds, 75, of 104 E. Groves Street, Lucama, NC passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at his home while surrounded by his loving family. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC. The public visitation is scheduled for Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home with a wake service from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Darlena Adams and Dossie May Washington; and two brothers, Zedekiah and Edward Worelds.
Jack leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Gloria Worelds of the home; three daughters, Frances Stokes of Washington D.C., Gloria Moore of Raleigh, N.C., and Shirley Brown of Wilson, N.C.; and one son, Reginald Worelds of Fayetteville, N.C.; five sisters, Julia Yelverton (William) of Newport News, VA., Janice Hinnant of Wilson, N.C., Sallie Hines of Columbia, MD, Ernestine Randolph (Ross) of Willingsboro, N.J., Boris Lipscomb (Che) of Virginia Beach, VA; one brother, Jasper Worelds (Carrie) of Queens, N.Y.; five grandsons, Pierre Cook, Sr. of Washington, D.C., Clarence Witherspoon of Raleigh, NC, Domonique Worelds of Farmville, NC, Steven and Nikko Brown of Wilson, N.C.; one granddaughter, Jada Stokes of Washington, D.C.; two great-grandsons, Pierre, Jr. and Xy’Darione; one great-granddaughter, Scarlett; one aunt, Minnie Mathis of New York; and a special nephew, Morris Worelds of Wilson, N.C. and a host of nieces, nephews, family and his Ottenberg Family.
Services are being conducted by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.
