Glessie Burgess Finch

Mrs. Glessie Burgess Finch, 86, of 4209 Borden Road, Wilson, NC, passed away at her home on February 22, 2019.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 11:00 am at Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ, 1601 Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC. Apostle John Burgess will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Mrs. Finch was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Woodard, Elijah Burgess and Annie Burgess; her brothers, Ivory Burgess, Sylvester Woodard, Charles Staton, her sisters Rosa Uzzell, Hellen Wilson, Elizabeth Parker and step daughter Stella Harris.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Randolph Finch Sr. of Wilson, NC, five sons, John Burgess (Annette) of Goldsboro, NC, Randolph Finch Jr. (Sherice) of Greensboro, NC, George Finch (Betty), and Cleveland Finch of Wilson, NC, and Terry Finch (Teela) of Williamsburg, VA. She also leaves six daughters, Lucille Wiggins of Burlington, NC, Joyce Finch, Iris Finch, Beverly Brown and Chinelle Farmer (Hardy) all of Wilson, NC, and Lori Owens (Kevin) of Killeen, TX. 

The family will receive friends at the home where they will assemble on Saturday at 10:00 am in preparation for the funeral procession.
