Etta Lee Bullock Bates

Mrs. Etta Lee Bullock Bates, 77, of Hempstead, NY, passed away on November 16, 2019.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 12:00 noon at Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ, 1601 Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.  The public viewing will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ.  Rev. Gerald Wayne Smith will officiate and burial will follow in St. Delight Cemetery, Walstonburg, NC.

Mrs. Bates was preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Bates; two grandchildren, Randy Smith, Jr. and Kevon Barnes; her parents, Jerry Bullock and Mildred Speight Bullock; and two sisters, Bessie Bullock and Bertha Dickens.

She leaves many loving and cherished memories to:  three sons, Thomas J. Bullock (Anita) of Greenville, NC, Randy Smith of Hempstead, NY and Rev. Gerald Wayne Smith                       (Cynthia) of Roosevelt, NY; two daughters, Evonne B. Speight (Moses) of Asheboro, NC and Lisa A. Smith of Jamaica, NY; twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Beulah Bullock of Walstonburg, NC, Mary Edmondson of Wilson, NC and Gwendolyn Bullock of Farmville, NC; four brothers, John Bullock of Waldolf, MD, Jerry Bullock, Jr. of Walstonburg, NC, Theodore Finch of Greenville, NC and Dennis Finch of Farmville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
