Douglas Ray Bridgers

Mr. Douglas Ray Bridgers, 64, of 505 E. Vance Street, Wilson, NC, passed away on August 15, 2017 at his home.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Mount Zion Progressive Primitive Baptist Church, 810 Black Creek Road, SE, Wilson, NC. Bishop Robert Earl Daniels will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Rest Haven, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther king, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Mr. Bridgers was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Lee Bridgers and Marjorie Pender Bridgers; one sister, Linda Pigford; one brother, Robert Bridgers

He Leaves cherished memories to: his wife, Joanne Bridgers of the home; one daughter, Danyale Bridgers of Elm City, NC; four grandchildren, Kenneth Coleman (Kitta), whom he raised of El Paso, TX, Deonta Bridgers, Dantavious Dew and Darius Bridgers; five great grandchildren, Abby, Sunny, Quantae,Gabriel and CJ ; one sister, Peggy Newsome; one brother, Isaac Bridgers; two special friends, Fred and Willie; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home where they will assemble on Saturday at 12:00 noon in preparation for the funeral procession.
