Christine Knight Dickerson

Christine Knight Dickerson, 82, of  4220 Larkspur Road,Wilson, NC, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Wilson Medical Center. 

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Faith Temple United Holy Church, 402 Minchew Street, Wilson, NC. Dr. Ernestine H. McGee will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, wilson, NC.

Mrs. Dickerson was preceded in death by: one son, Stanley Edwin Melton; her father, Joseph Knight; one brother, Joseph Knight, Jr; and three sisters, Shirley Knight, Delores Knight, and Florence Knight. 

She leaves cherished memories to: her husband, Alphonzia Dickerson; three sons, Rocky Melton of Wilson, NC, Jermil Durham and Joshua Durham (Nashay) both of the home; two daughters, Joyce Harris of Wilson, NC and Buffie Melton of the home; one step-son, Tommie Dickerson of Wilson, NC; nine grandchildren, Zartisha Davis (Ernest), Eric Barnes (Samantha), Quincey Melton, Kimberly Melton, Travon Kirby, Erica Whitaker; and Rocky Melton, Jr. all of Wilson, NC, Robbin Barnes of New York and Nicole Ellis of Connecticut; twenty great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; her mother, Lillie Knight of Wilson, NC; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Melton of Wilson, NC; six sisters, Lillian Fauntroy of Bowie, MD, Mary L. Knight, Magdalene Knight, Charlene Knight Harris (Charles) and Eudale Knight all of Wilson, NC and Jocylen Patterson of Knightdale, NC; one uncle, Herman Lucas of Wilson, NC; long time family friend, Horace Whack; best friend and cousin, Mother Minnie Pender; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends including, two special nieces, Kesha Wilson (Greg) and Kimberly Parker (Ricky) and, one special nephew, Randy Knight of Maryland. 

The family will be receiving friends at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Charles Harris, 620 Poe Street, Wilson, NC.

Services are being handled by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC
