Chester Lee Jones

Mr. Chester Lee Jones, 62,  of 715 New Street, Wilson, NC, passed away on October 9, 2018 at his home.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Mount Zion Progressive Primitive Baptist Church, 810 Black Creek Road, Wilson, NC. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Friday October 12, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm with an inspirational wake service from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC. 

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by two sons,  Terry Jones and Timothy Clay; his parents, Woodrow Wilson Jones, Sr. and Mary Jane Anderson Jones; two sisters, Rosa "Peaches" Jones and Catherine Richardson; four brothers, Paul Jones, Roger Lee Jones, Rudy Jones and Johnny Lee Jones and a special friend, Mary Joyce Clay.

He leaves many cherished memories to: two sons,Nathaniel Jones of Wilson, NC and Ernest Covington of Trenton, NJ; one daughter, Minister Teresa Clay of Wilson, NC; seven grandchildren including a special grandson, whom he reared, Marcus D. Clay; two sisters, Patricia Ann Jones (Albert) and Lida Mae Carter, both of Wilson, NC; one brother, Woodrow Jones, Jr. of Wilson, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including, a special niece, Mary Collins; two special nephews, Bobby Richardson and Robert Jones; three special friends, Johnny Jones, James Graham and Tony Witsell.

The family will receive friends at the home of Ms. Patricia Ann Jones, 1406 Atlantic Street, Wilson, NC, where they will assemble on Saturday at 12:00 noon in preparation for the funeral procession.

Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
