Charles Quintin Barnes Sr.

Mr. Charles Quintin Barnes Sr., 60,  of 201 Commons Blvd., Durham, NC, formerly of Wilson, passed away on January 5, 2019 at his residence.

The funeral is scheduled for Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ, 1601 Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC. Burial will be a private family event, held in Eastern Carolina Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Road, Goldsboro, NC at a later date.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Charles was preceded in death by: his parents, Willie Hines and Mary Barnes Hines and sister Mary Q. Barnes Horne.  

Charles is survived by his loving children, Quintin L. Moore of Wilson, NC; Charles Q. Barnes Jr. of Columbus, GA; Tyniesha M. Barnes, Ehbone J. Barnes, Qubilah K. Barnes and Deadrick D. James (all) of San Antonio, Texas; Three sisters, Selena A. Bynum, Shirley H. May, Gwen D. Hines (all) of Wilson, NC; one brother, Arthur R. Barnes of Phoenix, AZ; four aunts, Carrie Stewart (Raymond), Velma Williams both of Petersburg, VA, Ester Marshall of Springdale, MD and Dorothy Hines (Vincent) of Glen Arden, MD; two uncles, George Hines of Laurel, MD and Edward Hines Sr. of Petersburg, VA; sixteen grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and life long friends.  

Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
