Caroline Ashe

Caroline Ashe, 87, of 204 Reid Street, SE, Wilson, NC passed away on December 19, 2018, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC.  The funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Saint James Christian Church, 1739 E. Nash St., Wilson, NC.  Rev. Mary Ann Glover will officiate and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.

The public viewing is scheduled for Friday, December 21, 2018 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.

Ms. Ashe was preceded in death by: one daughter, Carolyn Marie Lucas; one great grandson, Jarell Jobal Wilkins; her parents, Cefare and Mary Hastings Hinnant; and nine siblings, Mary Ceil Hines, Kenneth Hinnant, Leonard Hinnant, Wilford Hinnant, Williard Hinnant, Roosevelt Hinnant, O'meta Grant, Tamer Glover and Dennis Hinnant.

She leaves many loving and cherished memories to:  two sons, Ivory Al Ashe of Woodbridge, VA and Jermal Ashe of Dallas, TX; three daughters, Brenda Faye Harriston of Woodbridge, VA, Tensy Wilkins (Alfred) and Shantana Ashe, both of Wilson; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Maesta Hinnant of Roosevelt, NY and Gloria Lewis of Richmond, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Alfred and Tensy Wilkins, 1603 Chelsea Drive, Wilson, NC and will also assemble there on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.

Services are being handled by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.
