Bessie Mae Nelson

Ms. Bessie Mae Nelson, 78, of Wilson, NC, passed away on August 9, 2018 at Life Care Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC.

The funeral is scheduled for Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC. Burial will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Friday August 17, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm also at Stevens Funeral Home. 

Preceding her in death were: her parents, Albert Nelson and Bessie Fox Nelson; one daughter, Ernestine Nelson; two sons, Harrison Nelson, Jr. and Ejaaz Shabazz; three sisters, Marie Nelson, Elouise Rountree and Alberta Hardy; five brothers, Fate Lewis, Ivory Gunter, Robert Gunter, Albert Nelson, Jr., and Joe Gunter.

 Many loving and cherished memories are left to: two daughters, Pansy Nelson of the home and Mildred Nelson of Wilson, NC; eight grandchildren, Eldrick Nelson, J.B. Smith, Shahara Ray, Angel White and Rodrick Nelson all of Wilson, NC, Kareem Shabazz and Faatimah Shabazz both of Raleigh, NC, and Victor Smith of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Margaret Nelson Diggins of Raleigh, NC and  Shirley A. White of Fayetteville, NC; one brother, Arvis Nelson of Fayetteville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

 Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
