Bessie Hall Obituary

Mrs. Bessie Hall, 94, of 2314 Tranquil Drive, Wilson, NC, passed away on April 5, 2018 at Wilson Medical Center.  The funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Home with the burial following in Hamilton Burial Garden, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.  Bishop Willie Thomas will give the Words of Comfort.  The public viewing will be Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.  The family will receive friends at the residence and will also assemble there on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.

Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Hall, Sr.; two sons, Roosevelt Hall, Jr. and Leamon E. Hall; her parents, Herman and Anna Whitley Moore; four brothers, Herman Moore, Jr., Henry Moore, Thomas Moore and Ulysses Moore; six sisters, Carrie Moore, Nancy Crawford, Helen Pridgen, Alberta Williams, Hattie Moore and Dora Blount.

She leaves a legacy of love and fond memories to:  three sons, Bennie Hall of the home, Leander Hall and his wife, Gloria, of Colonial Heights, VA and Donald Hall of the home who was also an excellent caretaker for his mother; two Daughters, Bessie Cooper and her husband, A. B. Cooper, of Chester, VA and Shirley Atkinson of Wilson, NC; one daughter-in-law, Betty Hall of Charlotte, NC; seventeen grandchildren including a special caretaker and granddaughter, Sophia McCoy and her husband, Barry; twenty-four great grandchildren; two sisters, Lena Scarbough of Philadelphia, PA and Rosa Crawford of Goldsboro, NC; one brother, Samuel Moore of Philadelphia, PA;  one sister-in-law, Verlyne Moore, of Philadelphia, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
