Amos Turner, Jr.

Mr. Amos Turner, Jr., 86, of 401 Maplewood Avenue, Wilson, NC, passed away on June 8, 2018, at Avante at Wilson in Wilson, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm also at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Mr. Amos Turner will be buried in St. James Pall Bearers #2 Cemetery in Moultrie, GA.

Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Thelma Wilson Turner and his second wife, Geraldine Turner and his parents, Amos Turner and Rosetta Banks Turner, one sister, Sarah Turner-Carr; two brothers, Joe Van Taylor and John Davis Turner. 

He  leaves many cherished memories to:three sons, Derrick Turner (LaWanda) and Frederick Lee Turner both of Cleveland, Ohio and Amos Turner, III (Lynn) of Wilson, NC; three daughters, Linda Robinson (Donnell), Margo Turner and Gwendolyn Turner (James) all of Wilson, NC; one stepdaughter, Theresa Ward of Wilson, NC; twenty four grandchildren,  fifty-eight great grandchildren;  ten great great grandchildren; three sisters, Martha Turner-Green, Mary Ann Turner both of Moultrie, GA and Annette Turner of New Jersey; three brothers, Eddie Turner (Hattie) of Bainbridge, GA, John Wesley Turner (Marilyn) of St. Louis, MO and Freddie Turner of Macon, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will meet at 1201 Downing Street, Wilson, NC on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.

Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
