Alma Lucas Obituary

Ms. Alma W. Lucas, 94, daughter of the late Sidney Wilkins, Sr. and Eva Winstead Wilkins, passed away on April 4, 2018 at Wilson Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Wilson, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Monday, April 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1815 Airport Blvd. W., Wilson, NC. Her son, Pastor Leon Lucas, will deliver the eulogy and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC. The public viewing is scheduled for Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC. At other times, the family will meet at the home of Pastor Leon Lucas, 10634 Staff Sergeant Lucas Jr. Rd., Wilson, NC and will assemble there on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.

Along with her parents, Ms. Lucas was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Lucas; four sons, H. Bernard Lucas, John S. Lucas, James T. Lucas and Willie G. Lucas; two brothers, Sidney Wilkins, Jr. and Marvin Wilkins; and two sisters, Mary Royster and Irene Wilkins.

She leaves many loving and cherished memories to her children: Clee Lucas and wife, Charlene, of Upper Marlboro, MD, Pastor Leon Lucas and wife, Teresa, and Wade Lucas, all of Wilson, NC, Dollie Lucas Dobbins and husband, Joe, of Crofton, MD, Linda Royston-Davies and husband, Alvin, of Charlotte, NC, Pamela Lucas of Knightdale, NC and Alma Mumford and husband, Thomas, of Newport News, VA; one step-daughter, Annette Davis of Elm City, NC; twenty grandchildren; Nineteen great grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Evelyn Lucas and Marie Lucas, both of Wilson, NC; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, other special relatives and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
