Alice Smith

Mrs. Alice Smith, 94, of 525 Forrest Road, W., Wilson, NC, passed away on June 20, 2018 at Avante At Wilson, Wilson, NC.  The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 12 noon at Truth Tabernacle Church, 704 Arlington Street, Rocky Mount, NC.  Bishop Haywood Parker will deliver the eulogy and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Extension, Wilson, NC.  

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Smith; her parents, Roscoe and Rosetta Jordan Bannerman; two sisters, Leola Bannerman and Josephine Bannerman Jordan; two brothers, Simmie Bannerman and William Roscoe Bannerman.

She leaves a legacy of love and devotion to:  her three children, James Howard Bannerman and his wife, Beatrice, of Cleveland, OH, Linda Gail Murrain of Cary, NC and Jesse Andre Smith of Cleveland, OH; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Smith of Burgaw, NC; one brother-in-law, Clifton Smith of Charlotte, NC; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

The public viewing will be held Monday, June 25, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.  The family will assemble on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the residence in preparation for the funeral procession.
