Mrs. Virginia G. Forsythe, 63, of 2209 Cameron Road, SW, Wilson, NC, passed away May 9, 2015 at Wilson Medical Center, Wilson, NC.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Virginia Gibson Forsythe are scheduled for Thursday May 14, 2015 at 12:00 pm.  The funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church located at 6161 Lucama Road, Lucama NC.  The committal service will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext. Wilson, NC.  Pastor Jeffrey Simms will deliver the Eulogy. 

Mrs. Forsythe was a 1969 graduate of Springfield High School.  In 1977 she graduated from Fayetteville State University and began her career in teaching.  Mrs. Forysthe remained in the educational field from 1977 until her retirement in 2008.  However, it was still in her heart to serve the children in Wilson County so she decided to  return to the classroom as a Certified Substitute Teacher.  She was currently serving as a Long Term Substitute at Vinson Bynum Elementary School.  Mrs. Forysthe was also a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

Loving memories will forever be in the hearts of many, especially her husband:  Hershall Forsythe of the home; two sons,  Joshua Bryan Forsythe of (Greenville) and Christopher Ryan Forsythe of ( Wilson); one step son, Maurice Lamont Forsythe of( Wilson); her mother, Olivia Rountree Gibson of (Wilson); four sisters, Carolyn Gibson Thompson (John)of Zebulon, Angela Gibson Cherry (Mike) of Wilson, Barbara  Gibson Deans of (Wilson) and Laverne Gibson of ( Wilson); six brothers, Dennis Wayne Gibson (Shirley) of Greenville, Rex Hall Gibson ( Barbara) of Durham, Gregory Lewis (Mary) of Sharpsburg, Reginald Hinton (Robbin) of Wilson, Anthony Hinton (Tabitha) of Wilson and Vincent Hinton (Wanda) of Wilson; one aunt, Eva Mae Rountree of (Wilson); one uncle,  Marvin Gibson (Mary) of Richmond, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Forsythe’s public visitation will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy, Wilson, NC from 2pm to 6pm.  The family will be present to receive friends during an Inspirational Wake Service which will begin at 6:00 pm in the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel.
