Thelma Moore

Mrs. Thelma Moore, 64, of 106 Tyson Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC, passed away on May 19, 2017 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Christian Church, 1739 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.  Elder Eric Barnes will do the eulogy and Pastor Charles Barnes will preside.  Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.

The public viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 10:00 until 10:50 a.m. prior to the funeral service.  This will be the only and final viewing.

Ms. Moore was preceded in death by her parents, Luce Swain and Thelma Barrett Simmons and her stepfather, James Simmons. 

She leaves loving and cherished memories to:  her two children, Chriscilus Moore and his wife, Margaret, better known as Tiny of Rocky Mount, NC and Kiara Social of Greenbelt, MD; three grandchildren, Stephanie Cumberbatch, Tenisha Moore and Criscelia Moore, all of Rockland, NY; two great grandchildren, King Smith and Nalahni Smith, both of Rockland, NY; one sister, Gwendolyn Swain of Rocky Mount, NC; two stepchildren, Alisha Social and Vidal Prentiss, both of Baltimore, MD; and other very special family members and friends.

The family will be meeting friends at the home of her sister, Gwendolyn Swain, 1617 Greys Mill Road, Rocky Mount, NC and will assemble there on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. in preparation for the funeral processional.
