Samuel Watson Parks

Mr. Samuel (aka) Parks Watson, 74, of 702 Elvie Street, Wilson, NC, passed away on October 12, 2017 at Vidant Hospice Center in Greenville, NC.  The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Tabernacle Temple of Jesus Christ, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.  Bishop Willie Thomas will officiate and burial will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC. 

He was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Dublin, and one brother, John Watson.

He leaves loving and cherished memories to: his devoted wife, Mary Parks of the home; two sons, Sammy Parks of the home and his fiancee', Wanda Best and Michael Carr (Sharon) of Wilson; five daughters, Sheila Wells (Isaac) of Lucama, Pat Parks of South Carolina, Lynette Johnson (Tony), Cynthia Parks and Pamela Carr, all of Wilson; 29 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister, Anita Wright (Charles) of Georgia; one brother, William Parks (Nedra) of Wilson; one sister-in-law, Minnie Hines of Wilson; one brother-in-law, Willie Hines of the home; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including some very special friends, Hubert Hammonds, Ernest Simms and Clarence Parks.

The public viewing will be Friday, October 20, 2017 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.  At other times, the family will be receiving friends at the residence and will assemble on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
