Ruth Currie Darden

Mrs. Ruth Currie Darden, 72, of 1951 Old Wilson Road, Rocky Mount, NC passed away on February 2, 2016 at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro, NC.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, February 5, 2016 at 12 noon at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 730 Sutton Road, Rocky Mount, NC.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 3:30 pm until 6:30 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

Mrs. Darden was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Ray Artis; her father, Willie Currie; one brother, Billie Rae Artis; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Curry; two sisters-in-law, Virgie Darden Barnes and Rosa Darden Holley.

She leaves cherished memories to: one son, Derrick N. Darden (Annette) of Wilson, NC; her mother, Jessie Currie of the home; seven grandchildren including, Ebony Artis of Greensboro, NC and Kenta Artis of the home; seven great grandchildren including, Brooklyn, Brailen, Sanniyah, Kaleb, Khalief and Musical; two sisters-in-law, Shannon Nicole Darden of Elm City, NC and Audrey Randolph of Richmond, VA; one brother-in-law, James Darden (Helen) of Rocky Mount, NC; two best friends, Linda Jean Pittman and Geraldine Artis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
