Roy Bernard Batts

Mr. Roy Bernard Batts Jr. of 3145 London Church Road, Elm City, NC transitioned from labor to reward on April 21, 2016.

Mr. Batts funeral service is scheduled for Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm and will be held at First Missionary Baptist Church of Elm City, 6211 East Langley Road, Elm City, NC.  The committal service will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery located on Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.

Mr. Batts was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Batts.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories; his mother, Lina Batts of the home; one son, Trevor Batts of Medoc, NC; one daughter, Talaya Braswell of Knightdale, NC; one grandson, Zaiden Epps of Battleboro, NC; three sisters, Velecia Williams (Harry) of Elm City, NC, Patricia Joyner (Currie) of Wilson, NC and Kathy Batts of Elm City, NC; one uncle, Bishop Don Batts (Elder Gail) of Rocky Mt., NC; three aunts, Earlene Coley (Elton) of Rocky Mt., NC, Mable Ruffin and Minnie Bullock both of Maryland; his loving and devoted fiancee’, Maggie Carney of Lawrence, NC; seven nieces and nephews, Darius Williams of Elm City, NC, Monica Joyner, Martel Joyner (Tammika), Gabrielle Mercer (Brad) and William Chadwick (Maya) all of Wilson, NC, Kayla Batts and Akeshyana Cooper both of Elm City, NC; five great nieces and nephews, Cameron Artis and Jaden Artis both of Elm City, NC, Jordan Joyner, Isaiah Chadwick and Autumn Chadwick all of Wilson, NC; his God-Mother, Cassie Taylor of Goldsboro, NC;  two special cousins, Earl Batts of Goldsboro and Kenneth Pridgen of Virginia; two special friends, Al Weaver of Elm City, NC and John Lucas of Wilson, NC and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

There will be a public visitation held for Mr. Batts on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy, Wilson, NC.  At other times, the family will be receiving friends at 3145 London Church Road, Elm City, NC.
