Oliver Joyner

Deacon Oliver Eugene "Buddy" Joyner, 80, of Wilson Pines Nursing Facility formerly of 901 Corbett Avenue,Wilson, NC, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 2:00pm at St. James United Holy Church, 100 Main Street, Stantonsburg, NC.

A public viewing will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC with the family receiving friends their from 7:00pm until 8:00pm. 

Deacon Joyner was preceded in death by his parents, William Joyner and Emma Farmer Joyner.

He leaves cherished memories to:  his devoted wife, Effie White Joyner of the home, five sons, Bryson Joyner of Greensboro, NC, Lancer Joyner (Sonceray) of Wilson, NC, Tony Oates of Lucama, NC, Carlton Joyner of Miami, FL Tracey Joyner (Michelle) of Accokeek, MD; three daughters, Aundrea Williams (Chris), Tondra Joyner of Lucama, NC and Tryenecia White of Wilson, NC; twenty two grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; one brother, Hubert Joyner( Mozelle ) of Newport News, VA; one sister, Katie Parker of Newport News, Virginia; his mother-in-law, Avris White of Wilson, NC; three brothers-in-laws, Elijah White Jr. (Diana) of Houston Texas, Joseph White and Lionel White both of Wilson, NC; four sisters-in-law, Trellis Tomlin (Don) of Lucam, NC, Schuyler White and Tammy Newsome (Fred) both of Wilson, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 905 Corbett Avenue, Wilson, NC, where they will assemble on Sunday at 1:00pm for the funeral procession.
