Nathan Artis, Jr.

Mr. Nathan Artis, Jr. 86 of 1601 Westwood Avenue W, Wilson, NC, passed away on November 20, 2017 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will also be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel prior to the funeral service.

Mr. Artis was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel Artis and Emma Ruffin Artis; three sisters, Shirley Artis, Lillie Artis, Odessa Cox; three brothers, Charles Artis , June Artis and Rufus Artis, Sr.

He leaves cherishes memories to : his wife, Viola Stallings Artis of the home; one son, Arthur P. Lewis (Delois) of Stantonsburg, NC; two daughters, Patty Battle of Belleville, NJ and Shanel Artis Robinson (Kelvin) of Raleigh, NC; one stepdaughter, Sylvia Anderson; eight grandchildren, Anita Spencer, Sarone Lewis-Brown, Tyquaan Battle, Quishaun Artis-Moye, Jasmine Anderson, Sgt. Joshua Anderson, Lt. Ramone Hill, Jr. and Torin Crudup; six great grandchildren; four sisters, Marjorie Taylor of Snow Hill, NC, Barbara Jean Canty (Tom) of Goldsboro, NC, Eunice Holmes of Stantonsburg, NC and Mattie King of Los Angeles, CA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Funeral arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
