Mark Steven Barnes

Mr. Mark Steven Barnes, age 42, of 703 Merrick St., Wilson, NC, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.  Funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at London Primitive Baptist Church, 1709 Herring Avenue, Wilson, NC at 12 noon.  Elder Johnny Stevenson will officiate and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Barnes, Jr. and his sister, Janice Savage.

Mr. Barnes leaves cherished memories to:  his loving and devoted mother, Maude Barnes of the home; two brothers, Aaron Barnes (Tartisha) of Rock Hill, SC and Lonnie Barnes, III (Tamika) of Greensboro, NC; three sisters, Patricia Diane Barnes, Cathy Bean and Lisa Best, all of Wilson, NC; five uncles, Camillus Barnes of Providence, NC, Eddie Barnes (Evelyn) and Robert Barnes, all of Durham, NC, Wiley Barnes (Christine) of Seattle, WA and Lonnie Sharpe (Lillian) of Elm City, NC; four aunts, Mildred Ellis, Mable Barron (Eddie), Mamie Little, and Mary Olean Bullock (James), all of Wilson, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including a very special cousin, Karen "Sue Sue" Newsome.

A pubic viewing will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr., Pkwy., Wilson, NC with the family receiving friends there from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for an inspirational wake.  At all other times, the family will be receiving friends at the residence where they will also assemble on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
