Mrs. Marilyn Brown, 54, of 5011 Anthony Road, Wilson, NC, passed away on June 16, 2017 at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at L. N. Forbes OFWB Tabernacle, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.  Rev. William Douglas Horne will officiate and burial will follow in St. Delight Cemetery in Walstonburg, NC. 

A public viewing is scheduled for Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC with the family receiving friends there from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for an inspiration wake.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her father, James Earl Evans; her step-father, Jonah Artis; one sister, Laura Ann Rice and her mother-in-law, Ruth Carol Brown.

She leaves many cherished memories to:  her husband, Alexander Brown of the home; two daughters, Felicia Evans of Greenville and Ladigen Brown of Farmville; one son, Matthew J. Brown of Kinston; four grandchildren, Donovan Williams of Wilson, Daure' Davis of Greenville, Nigeria Brown and Zymeria Whitfield, both of Farmville; her mother, Percy Artis of Walstonburg; six sisters, Barbara Crowder (George) of Walstonburg, Diane Davis (Linwood) and Lisa Harris, all of Wilson, Mary Ann Evans and Lisa Murphy (Henry), all of Winterville and Ella Mae Simmons (Randy) of Greenville; three brothers, James Williams of Walstonburg, Joseph Evans and Donnie Evans, both of Wilson; four step-sisters, Ruth Mayo and Margie Pearce (Jimmy), all of Wilson, Shirley Pitt (Johnny) of Walstonburg and Irene Mills of Rocky Mount; five step-brothers, James D. Artis (Linda) of Saratoga, Walter L. Artis (Katie) and Ivey C. Artis (Victoria), both of Wilson, Dan H. Artis (Gloria) and Ricky Artis, all of Walstonburg; two aunts, Annie Ruth Speight of Walstonburg and Blanche Evans of Farmville; one great aunt, Almeta Williams of Farmville; one brother-in-law, Johnnie Brown of Falkland; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including two nieces and one nephew whom she reared, Shawanda Brown, Lawanda Brown (Maurice) and Daniel Brown.

Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
