Katie C. Barnes

Mrs. Katie C. Barnes, 88, of 113 SE. Powell Street, Wilson, NC, passed away on January 4, 2018 at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Friday, January 12, 2018 at 12 noon at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 414 Hadley Street, Wilson, NC. 

Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street, Ext., Wilson, NC.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC. 

Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband, Ned Barnes and her parents, Thomas Edward Chestnut and Rossie Powell Chestnut.

She leaves cherished memories to: three sons, Ned Thomas Barnes, IV (Cora) of Elm City, NC, Craig Brando Barnes (Janice) and Gregory Kevin Barnes of Wilson, NC; one daughter, Iris Marbet (Manuel) of Raleigh, NC, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.

The family will receive friends at the home where they will assemble on Friday at 11:00 am in preparation for the funeral procession.
