Donny Barnes

Mr. Donny Barnes, 57, of  1011 Lincoln Street, Wilson, NC, passed away on January 11, 2018 at his home.  A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr., Pkwy., Wilson, NC at 2:00 p.m.  The family will meet at Stevens Funeral Home on Tuesday between 1:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. in preparation for the service of loving memory.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Ford; his father, Charles Sanders; one sister, Joyce "Ann" Fleming and one aunt, Margaret Martin.

Mr. Barnes leaves a legacy of love and devotion to: Latonia Sewell, who was like a daughter to him and her children, Jailin Sewell and Lauren Canady; his sisters, Modestine Hughes and Arletha Broderick, both of New York and Paula Sneed, who was also his provider and stayed very close to him; one brother, Cozart Barnes of New York; his step-sisters, Charlisa Ward, Starlet Ward Batts and Montressa Ward, all of Wilson; one uncle, Rev. Kenneth Martin who reared him and was the father figure in his life; one aunt, Mattie Myles of Wilson; a special niece, Teri Joyner; special nephews, Willie "JR" Fleming and Leonard Roscoe Fleming; his special great nieces and nephews whom he loved so much, Luther Sneed, Naigee Rountree, Shalum Joyner and Demetrius "DJ" Joyner; special long-time friends, Jeff Coleman, Anthony Leach, Timothy and Jermaine; and several other special relatives and friends.

Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
