Mrs. Barbara Jean Barnes Smith, age 73, of Woodbridge, VA passed on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Woodbine Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Alexandria, Va.  A public viewing will be Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.  The funeral service is scheduled for Friday, August 26, 2016 at 12 noon at Wilson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 513 E. Barnes Street, Wilson, North Carolina.  Rev. Earl S. King, Jr. will do the eulogy and Bishop Robert L. Gorham will preside.  Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1717 Lane St. Ext., Wilson, NC.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Thomas Barnes and Maggie Ward Barnes; six brothers, Vernon Barnes, David Barnes, Tommy Barnes, Frank Barnes, James Barnes and Renny Barnes; and four sisters, Ollie Mae Barnes, Alma Brooks, Ruth Mae Hooker and Catherine Battle.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving and devoted children, Ann Barnes and fiance', David Smith of Woodbridge, VA and Kenneth Ray Barnes and wife, Sharon, of Chesapeake, VA and ; four precious grandchildren, Einna Barnes, Britney Barnes, Tonya Fenwick and McKenzee Barnes; two great grandchildren, Jayla Barnes and Jayden Barnes; one brother, Charlie Barnes of Wilson, NC; four sisters, Mary Gray Coleman of Lucama, NC, Annie Mae Ellis and Bernice McCall, both of Wilson, NC and Barbara Ann Coleman of Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
