Mr. Arthur L. King, 80, of 2217 Imperial Avenue, Wilson, NC, passed away on June 22, 2017.

The funeral service is scheduled for Friday, June 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy., Wilson, NC.  The public viewing will be Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home.  Rev. Dr. Edward McAdams will deliver the message and burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Ext., Wilson, NC.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Glenn Howard King and Steven Romallas King, his parents, his maternal grandmother and uncles who reared him, Lucy King, Arthur "Aus" King and Albert (Crackerjack) King; one brother, Otis King; one sister, Lucille Younger and five siblings on his father's side.

He leaves many loving and cherished memories to: his loving and devoted wife, Grace King of the home; two sons, James Arthur King of Atlanta, GA and Anthony E. King; two daughters, Ruth Langely Jacobs (Cliff) of Durham, NC and Britt Allen of Philadelphia, PA; three step-children, Andre Artis (Cathy) of Chesterfield, VA, Randy Artis of the Dominican Republic and Sheerlene Artis-Carlton (Bobby) of Wilson, NC; one sister, Doris Hutchinson (Lee) of Wilson, NC; three brothers, Albert King of Lucama, NC, Claude King of Wilson, NC and Harold King of Rocky Mount, NC; his mother-in-law, Ollie Mae Barnes of Elm City, NC; two sisters-in-law, Ozebelle Dean King of Wilson, NC and Vendra Hayes of Elm City, NC; five brothers-in-law, William D. Barnes (Linda) of Springdale, MD, Johnny Barnes (Brenda) of Monroe, NC, Dennis Barnes (Ada) of Rocky Mount, NC, Timothy Barnes (Judy) of Saratoga, NC and Kevin Barnes (Marti) of Spotsylvania, VA; eight grandchildren, one step-granddaughter; one great grandson; four step-great grandchildren including one that he loved playing with and who was the apple of his eye - Makenzy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 1820 Martin Luther king, Jr. Parkway, Wilson, NC.
